Barn Raising Adventure

Barn Raising Adventure

For the past three years, The Wilds of New England has been on a “Barn Raising” adventure. The new “BARN” at camp not only increases our ability to take a few more campers each week but also opens up a treasure chest of indoor and night games when the rains come and the stars and moon take over the sky.

You can take the journey with us by visiting our Facebook page to watch our Barn come together from the eye of a drone or from the lens of a time-lapse camera. From dreaming, to planning, permitting, drawing, engineering, excavating, foundations, walls, rafters, shingles, and cupola it has been an amazing “site” to see. Along with our “Barn” being raised, we have watched God also raise many loyal friends to the camp ministry and raise all the funds needed to finish the work with absolutely no debt. God has also raised an awareness to New England churches as to who we are and what we are endeavoring to do by the grace of God.

As the work continues both inside and out, we will soon have a wonderful 50 x 130-foot barn for activities, services, Funtime, and some of the most unusual and memorable games ever played at camp. The walls of our Barn are 17 feet-9 inches high, and will enable some intense Blanket Volleyball and Ping Pong Baseball games.

The lobby is an inviting area to mingle along with restroom space that quadruples what we currently have in our Meeting House. The 20 x 70 foot screened in porch will give a number of cabins a shady, comfortable, and private place to hang out, talk, and share what they learned in the morning chapel and personalized God and I Time.

So, we raise our hearts in praise to our Lord who enabled us through the generosity of loving friends and hours of tireless work from a dedicated staff to see our “Barn Raising” adventure come together at last.
