Thank you for helping us meet these needs.
Dear Friends,
As a child, I thought that the gifts around the Christmas tree were the best thing in the world! I loved shaking them or trying to peek in the flaps of the wrapping paper to see what was inside. (My mom eventually developed anumbering system to replace our names on the tags so we would stop peeking.) As best as we were able, we would hold back our excitement until Christmas morning when we seemed to just let it all loose. We always made a huge mess of our living room. The sounds of paper ripping were followed by joyous screams when we discovered what was inside the box. What little kid doesn’t enjoy getting a new, exciting toy for Christmas?
Now that I am a dad of four excitable little boys, I am on the other end of many of those gifts. I not only get the joy of seeing my kids opening presents, but I get to enjoy hearing an enthusiastic “THANK YOU!” from one of them who just opened something he had been requesting for a long time.
Right now I feel like that little kid who is about to burst with excitement and scream out “THANK YOU!” I don’t know if you can “hear” the enthusiastic tone in my voice, but I truly want you to know that we are grateful. Thank you for . . .
• Praying for God to work in campers’ lives this summer. Several trusted Christ as their Savior and many dedicated their lives to Him.
• Praying for our wonderful Summer Staff who worked hard and demonstrated Christlike love to the campers.
• Sending over 1,600 campers—our largest summer ever!
• Sustaining us through your prayers, gifts, and volunteer hours. You played a vital role in our ministry this summer. So this
Christmas while you are cleaning up that wrapping paper and telling each other “thank you,” join with us in thanking God for giving us Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins. We count it a privilege to share the news of that gift with so many each year. If God would lead you to consider The Wilds of New England in your year-end giving plans, we thank you in advance for continuing to help us spread the news of this great Gift.
On behalf of the entire TWNE Staff,
